A California native, Laurie received a bachelor's and master's degrees in dietetics and nutrition from Utah State University and earned a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology at the University of Utah. She is a Registered Dietitian with 39 years of experience as a clinical dietitian, educator, and research professor. Since moving to Cambria in 2013, Laurie has worked for a local home health agency, and has given numerous diet, nutrition, and lifestyle talks to local clubs and organizations, and is an active member of the Healthcare Advocacy Committee for the Cambria Community Healthcare District (CCHD). Elected to the CCHD Board of Directors in 2018 Laurie currently chairs the Healthcare Advocacy and Education Committee and is a member of the Executive and Communication Committees.
